How to Make Great YouTube Videos

Are you using videos in your marketing yet? If not then you are definitely missing out. Were you aware that over three billion people are viewing videos each and every day! Want to get in on that action? I'll share with you how to make great YouTube videos in this article.

Creating videos is pretty similar to creating written content. If you are using search engine optimization (SEO) strategies for the written word then the same would apply for creating videos.

I recently took a course from a top video producer on YouTube who actually started by making his own for his business. Let's face it, the majority of people learn quicker when they are being shown what to do instead of it just being explained to them.

Now a lot of people shy away from creating videos because they don't want to be in front of the camera but with all the services and software available today that is no longer an issue. Some of the simplest and easiest are free too.

So where do you start! There is always the trusty old Google for keyword research and they do have their free tool to use for this. Locate keywords that your target audience is searching for and don't go below 3,000 views. The best range is actually between about 30,000 and 50,000 so going close to 100,000 is really pushing it.

There are several other sites that can help with this as well. Have you heard of Google Insights? This is another great site where you can locate what people are searching for but the real trick is to look for the keywords that are rising in the search results. Great place to find out what is up and coming.

Then of course you have YouTube trends and they have their own blog and Twitter account. It's always great to go after keywords that people are searching for right now correct? So if you can incorporate those keywords into your headlines and perhaps use like a comparison then it will definitely get some attention.

Another site that gets ignored quite a bit is Google Alerts. This is where you can actually put in the keywords you are searching for and see what other people are saying about this same topic. You can use these keywords for just content like blog posts or you can search for videos. If people are creating videos around those keywords and they are getting views then you need to jump in as well. Grab some of those views too.

Want to know how to do that? Shoot a video response to their video and the majority of the time it will get accepted because you aren't linking another video to it. YouTube sees their video as important and will help move it up in the search engines but your video will be right there with it.

How to Use YouTube Marketing to Go Viral When Everybody Has Already Caught On

Back when YouTube marketing was still in its wild wild West days, circa 2005, it was quite easy to go viral using the video sharing service. Even though there were less people using the service, there were still enough connections with the various online sharing sites such as Reddit and Digg, as well as connections to the search engines and the major blogs, to create enough interest in a standout video to go viral.

Now that everybody has caught on to the viral video as the most cost-effective way to spread the word about a product, a service, or cause, there is much more competition on YouTube to make a video viral, which means that no matter how good your video is, there will be much less eyes on it then there would have been even 10 years ago.

YouTube itself has caught on to the phenomenon and raised its own barriers to entry. For instance, YouTube marketing is made much harder by the fact that YouTube itself will delete your videos for no reason it they feel that you are getting too much attention without their help, a la the YouTube partner program or paying them for views as a "featured video."

YouTube does not allow you to pick your own thumbnail unless you are a partner. You also cannot pick a background for your channel anymore unless you are a partner, nor can you upload videos above a certain size.

With all these new barriers in place, many people are actually finding that they need a marketing budget in order to go viral these days. It may not be free anymore, but going viral can still pay big dividends if you manage your views in the correct manner.

YouTube marketing these days means spreading the wealth between YouTube itself and private services that can give you views and likes and comments. You have to be sure to find the services that can do this using real accounts, as YouTube, backed by Google, is extremely potent when it comes to weeding out accounts that are simply clicking videos over and over again from the same IP address.

In order to go viral these days, you must also take advantage of all of the purely legal ways to make your video stand out from the pack on YouTube. For instance, the basics of YouTube marketing dictate that you use the same techniques for your keywords on YouTube that you would use to place your index marker on Google. As a matter of fact, as Google bought YouTube a few years ago, these systems are becoming more and more similar.

Aside from using long tail keywords and the appropriate tangential synonyms (in quotes, of course), you must make sure to follow all of the DMCA rules if you plan to make partner. That means no copyrighted content.

10 YouTube Tips To Boost Your Web Presence

Everybody knows that YouTube is a great place to find an audience. It is the second most popular search engine on the planet, and the popularity of videos on the web is only on the rise. The competition in various niches is incredibly low, so the opportunities are certainly there to capitalize on.

That said, it's not necessarily obvious how to fully take advantage of YouTube, since the process is so much different from traditional blogging and SEO. Here are a few tips to get you on your way.

1. Description - Fill this with a brief summary of the video that should get people interested to view it. Don't make it too long or people won't bother. Don't stuff it with keywords, since this will cause most people to immediately assume you are spam, and it won't improve your ranking.

2. Description Backlink - Be sure to include a link back to your site from the description. Include html:// in the link or it won't even show up as a clickable link. This can send traffic to your site, and if the video gains authority of its own it will boost your site's search engine rank.

3. Call to Action - It's typically a bad idea to immediately ask the viewer to buy something, but ask the viewer to take an action such as visiting your site, subscribing, or joining your social media profiles. If you don't, very few of them will think to do anything else but watch another video on YouTube, created by somebody else.

4. Be Involved - Stay active in the YouTube community. Leave comments, rate videos, and send messages. This builds up your reputation and encourages involvement from your audience.

5. Make the Video Public - This is simple but it can be easy to miss. Be sure to check this option or people besides you won't actually be able to find the video.

6. Create a Video Transcript - This closed caption file is helpful for the hard of hearing. It is also incredibly useful for ranking, since Google has no way of interpreting the content of the video without it.

7. Choose the Right Thumbnail - Pick a video thumbnail that makes people interested enough to see what the video is about. Use YouTube Insight to identify the most popular parts of your video and adjust your thumbnails if necessary.

8. Use the YouTube Keyword Tool - Do as much keyword research as possible before wasting your time on something that may interest Google searchers, but not YouTuber viewers.

9. Optimize Your File Name - The file name is just as important as the title. Include your target keyword.

10. Network - Befriend some of the most influential YouTube presences in related niches.
